ASEA Redox Signaling Water Molecules Supplement Review
ASEA Redox Supplement claims that by taking at least four ounces of Redox per day, the molecules (suspended) in the liquid will improve cell interaction that results in better cellular health by rejuvenating them and even restoring damaged cells or tissue.
Reason to believe?
It contains stabilized active redox signaling molecules. This is possible because of what’s called reactive oxygen species (ROS), a chemical species created as a byproduct of the normal metabolism of oxygen (the loss, or reduction, of electrons). ROS is even created when mitochondria (power generator) produce energy.
The reduction of molecular oxygen (O2) produces superoxide (•O−2) and is the precursor of most other reactive oxygen species: O2 + e− → •O−2 (Source: Turrens 2003)
The company further claims “It starts as ultrapure water and salt that then undergoes a complex multi-step electrochemical process over three days. Complex chemistry and physics are involved in the production process, with tightly controlled quality assurance and production parameters and neutral pH (7.35). The finished product contains a perfectly balanced, safe, stable mixture of redox signaling molecules such as those natively produced by the mitochondria inside all cells in your body,” according to their website.
White Papers
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) study
They claim it shows that exposure to Redox Supplement caused in vitro cells to increase antioxidant release for a period of about 120 minutes. Orally administered Redox Supplement caused no toxic response or inflammation to tissue. In other words, it was confirmed nontoxic.
Dr. David C. Nieman
Dr. Nieman from the North Carolina Research Campus Human Performance Laboratory conducted a test involving 106 overweight women who consumed 4oz of Redox per day for a period of 12 weeks. The results are the following:
• Increased the nuclear translocation of the NRF2 transcription factor in the cells over a short-lived period of 30 – 60 minutes
• Helped inhibit the proliferation of certain markers harmful to cell viability and health
• Reduced the death of cells that were stressed with cytokines (cachexin), radiation, and serum starvation
Known side effects
Redox Supplement contains water and 123 milligrams of sodium, which is about 7% of the upper safe limit as designated by the FDA, authoritative websites indicate that side effects other than mild digestive upset would be rare. There should be no side effects.
So does it work?
There are hundreds of food supplements out there, each year there’s always a new product that comes out saying this and that. Unfortunately, most are just fads although may still have health benefits.
However, for ASEA Redox Supplement, the white papers from their official website are neither conclusive or published with commendations. While it may not be a hoax, it is also not substantiated thus, we cannot make a conclusive report that it really works. For now, we can all base it on popular review by users, which is currently few and needs to be verified for autenticity.
